Jim Flannery is a safety consultant in the Lethbridge, AB area. He has been in the safety field since 2000, working for companies of all shapes and sizes. Jim graduated from the University of Calgary in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Political Science. He earned his National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation in 2003 through the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). Since then, he has earned an Occupational Health and Safety diploma from the University of Alberta and, in 2015, became the very first Gold Seal certified Safety Coordinator in Lethbridge, AB.
In the spring of 2018, Jim earned his Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
Jim’s work experience has had him in the field as a Health and Safety Supervisor on construction projects worth anywhere from a few hundred dollars to hundreds of millions of dollars. He has also spent time on oil and gas projects in northern Alberta with in-depth safety protocols as well as in an office environment where risks were relatively low and ergonomic concerns were the biggest issue.
Jim has provided consulting services primarily in his home province of Alberta but has also done work in British Columbia.
Jim has volunteered with Lethbridge Habitat for Humanity and he was a volunteer baseball coach for 26 years. He has taken part in Steps For Life in support of families of workplace tragedy. He has also participated in the YWCA’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign as part of the BNI Wise Guyz team.
